:silk is an also kind of fibre. But it has diff. Type of sources (for e.g. : cocoon) The process of rearing silk from silkworm is sericulture . The first stage of life history of silk moth is caterpillar/silkworm. As silkworm grow in their shape size they termed as 'pupa'. During the movement of head of silkworm they secrets/release proteins which come into contact with fibre with air and become hard and it is called a silk fibre. They are obtained from diff. Cocoons so they have diff. (Smoothness shine and hardness)
