Plants are the only life forms on earth which are able to prepare their own food from simple raw materials like carbon dioxide from the air, water from the soil and energy from the sunlight by a process called photosynthesis. It is important because it converts solar energy to food (sometimes stored as starch) .This process also provides us oxygen for breathing. Photosynthesis is very essential for all the animals to survive. Without plants herbivores would die, without herbivores, carnivores and omnivores would die. In one word there won’t be any life existing. Even plants are a source of oxygen , because we humans and animals need oxygen which is released by plants . imagine , no plants then no oxygen, no life.
