They are sour substances found naturally or made in labs or an acid is a chemical compound which when dissolved in water it gives hydronium ions. Ex- natural acid , lactic acid , tartaric acid etc . Mineral acid (artificial)- salphuric acid (h2So4), nutric acid (hno3) , hydrocloric acid , etc.

Taste of acid is sour. There are many substances that contain acid and so taste sour. For example – lemon, curd, pickles, orange juice, vinegar, etc.
Substances that taste sour are called acidic. The chemical nature of such substance is known as acidic.
The word acid comes from Latin ‘acere’ which means sour.
