(x^2+3x+1)÷x+1 1 .Multiply the first term of divisor such that the first term of dividend get divided. 2.Then multiply the other term of divisor by it. 3.Now of the remainder is r and the remaining 1 term of dividend is d .As the same process divide it that you have to do in 1st and 2nd step. x^2+3x+1/x+1 So quotient =x+2 and remainder = -1
