In cold winter evenings grandmother used to give him a large bowl of warm water to bathe.He would test the temperature with his hands and step into the bowl one part of his body untill the water would rise up to the neck then he would rubbed the soap.He would run to dry himself by the kitchen fire.He knew it by observing the grandfather.Once he got in the kettle which was kept on the fire he merely bolied himself alive if he had not been taken out of the kettle
