The pitcher plant catches its prey by attracting them via their colouful leaf, modified into a pitcher.the leaf tip is modified into the pitcher lid.the pitcher has hair pointing downwards inside it. when an insect sits on the pitcher, the lid closes. the plant gets trapped inside the hair. the pitcher walls then secrete enzymes to digest the food.
