In the poem the poet highlights the plight of underpriviledged children using vivid images and irony to describe the kind of education they get, their poverty, deprivation, hopelessness, dark and unoptimistic life they lead. The poem is a sharp commentary on the division of classes still prevalent in our societies. yet these childrens are being optimistic and hopes that one day some one would come to their rescue.
