Because in dna from the carbon atom one oxygen is removed & so it is also called as deoxyribonucleicacid & so it not very much reactive and in rna oH group is present which is very reactive & it react very fastly and in rna variation is seen very fastly

Due to presence of 2' - hydroxyl group in the pentos ring DNA is more stable than RNA as DNA is more susceptible to hydrolysis.
