My son will appear in class 10 board exam in 2019 in CBSE "Academic" stream (not in any "Vocational" stream). My questions are - 1) Is any 6th subject compulsory for him (excluding the main 5 subjects) ? 2) Why some schools of "Academic" stream Keep the subject FIT(Foundation of information technology- code 165) in their syllabus excluding the main 5 subjects? Is it compulsory to take this subject FIT?

    Yes it is compulsory to study FIT because it creates foundation for those students who want to join It sector and secondly CBSE has made It as 6th subject and compulsory for students of class 9 as well as 10. But in Final examination of class 10 only 5 subject will come not it but in mid term or half yearly examination fit will come though we never include it while counting percentage of a exam ..it will be graded as A or B ..that's all not to the view for final examination of board ... Thank you.
