It is technique or process in which a narrow tube is inserted into the elementary canal and a small portion of infected area is cut out and then tested.
It is done to suspect cancer, epithelial problems. Small clots of skin etc.
For various parts it is of various type.
For example, for oeshophagus it is called endoscopy whereas for large intestine (colon) it is called colonoscopy
