Shridha Sharma 8 years, 3 months ago

as water converts into H2O(ice) from H2O(water) its bond angle changes from 104 to 109 during change of state that's why ice expands hence its density decreases than water.

Water expands on freezing and results in a decrease in density. Thus, ice has a lower density than that of water. Hence, it floats on water.
