The Golgi apparatus has been given more than just name, be it Golgi complex or Golgi body. But it is mostly addressed to the Golgi apparatus. We shall begin by familiarizing ourselves with where they are found. First and foremost, they exist universally in both plants and animals, unlike vacuoles and such.
Functions:
1) They are involved in synthesis of cell wall, plasma membrane and lysosomes.
2) It produces vacuoles which contain cellular secretions eg: enzymes, protein, cellulose etc.
3) They act as an area for storage, processing and packaging of various cellular secretions.
4) It is involved in repair and synthesis of cell membrane.
