Asteroid:
(i) Asteroids are minor planets.
(ii) The orbital shape is elliptical and orbits the Sun.

Meteoroid
(i) Meteorit are falling star.
(ii) The orbital shape is elliptical and orbits the Sun but, get pulled into larger bodies.
(iii) Believed to be a smaller disintegrated element of comet or asteroid.
(iv) Do not produce an atmosphere, but burn up when falling into a planet.
(v) Typically less than 10 meters.
