Sigma is bond between each other and it is only single bonded with each other,whereas pi bond is double or triple bond between each other

Sigma bind are formed by head on overlap of f the atomic orbital while pi bond is firmed by the parallel or sideways overlap of atomic orbitals . As the degree to which the overlap takes place is greater in sigma bind its strength is greater than pi bond
