Electron egativity is a the tendency of an atom to attract the lone pair in bond towards itself. It is a hypothetical It is like temperature. It is just an indirect way to measure the kinetic energy of a system.
Electron gain enthalpy is defined as the energy released/absorbed by an isolated gaseous atom when an electron is brought inside it.
Electron affinity is the amount of energy gain or lost by the surrounding of an isolated gaseous atom when an electron is brought inside it.. The greater the negative value of electron gain enthalpy, the greater the stability of the atom. The greater the positive value of electron affinity, the greater the stability of the atom. Electron gain enthalpy = -(electron affinity)
