An Aerosol is a colloid in which a solid or liquid is dispersed in a gas. Examples: Hair spray, Fog, mist and clouds in which liquid is dispersed in gas. Emulsion: An Emulsion is a colloidal in which minute droplets of one liquids are dispersed in other liquid which is not miscible with it.
A colloidal solution in which both the dispersed phase and dispersion medium are liquids is called an Emulsion. Gels is that kind of colloid in which the dispersed phase is a liquid and the dispersion medium is a solid. So the main difference between an Emulsion and a Gel is the depression medium.
