Eutrophication is the natural ageing of lake or any aquatic body , by nutrient enrichment of its water. It happens as follows: Water in young lake is cold n clear to support life. With time,it gets accumulated with nutrients such as phosphorus n nitrogen by the means of streams. These serves as nutrients n flourish the growth of various types of benthic {bottom plants} as well as free floating plants. Then slowly n gradually due to the organic remains of plants n animals .,water becomes warmer and later it converts into swamp or marsh land.
