When the ship entered the silent sea, the breeze stopped blowing altogether and the sails of the ship also dropped. It ship stopped moving which made the whole atmosphere became exremely sad and depressing. Their ship was stuck with the very hot sun pouring down its heat from above. Though they were surrounded by water from all sides their lips were parched because they had no more water to drink. Their motionless state is compared to a painted ship on a painted ocean. The mariners believed that supernatural elements had done this to make them suffer for the killing an innocent bird.
