    Carbon is covalent compound.which is form with combining with other element which are covalent in nature that is for example CH4(methane) . Carbon has outer valence electron 4 and hydrogen has 1 and hydrogen in this compound 4 hydrogen .so hydrogen has total 4 valence electron then carbon octate is complete and hydrogen octate complete. theorfore carbon form covalent compound
