In the 55th sonnet of Shakespeare, he says that the memories of his youth friend will remain forever because it has been captured in his poem by his pen.  “Pen is mightier than sword”  is very true because all the gilded monuments built by the princes, rulers and riches will be destroyed in some way or the other but the poem will withstand all the ravages of time. Shakespeare says that, even if it is the “Sword of Mars” it cannot destroy his memory because his poetry is immortal.

'pen is mightier than the sword'- the poem stands true in this context. It represents how time take its toll on the monuments erected by the great leaders in their urge to be remembered by posterity and decives them . Moreover what one /poet has written its his verses still lives and lives longer than these swords or the ornate statues.

Pen is mightier than sword. Poet wants to convey that his poetry will live longer or shall outlive all the gold Plated sword or buildings. He wants to say that all buildings and sword will get erected due to powerful elements of time ( death and destruction) but his poetry will stay longer than these

The pen is mightier than the sword implies that a pen is extremely powerful. Even though it is small in size, it has the power to accomplish things that a mighty sharp edged sword cannot accomplish.?
