Jansie is sophie's class fellow and friend she is a sensible girl she belong to a lower middle class family she is different from Jansie in thinking and temperament she knows the harsh realities of life she has no unrealistic dream she is so practical and realist. She knows that she is embarked for biscuit factory .She knows that big things require big money and experience which she had none. She is down to earth.
