Vntr or variable no. Of tandem repeats are the dna portions which highly repeated sequences. They are present on many chromosomes. Their no. Of repetition and length is inherited from parents. Thus when dna is replicated by pcr techniques, these sections are studied which helps to confirm the parents or find out the criminal from the suspected people.
