Cell is a fundamental unit of life

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 10 months ago

Cell is called the fundamental unit of life. A cell is capable of independent existence and can carry out all the functions which are necessary for a living being. A cell carries out nutrition, respiration, excretion, transportation and reproduction; the way an individual organism does. Unicellular organisms are capable of independent existence which shows a cell’s capability to exist independently. Due to this, a cell is called the fundamental and structural unit of life. All living beings are composed of the basic unit of life, i.e. cell.

According to the Work-Energy Theorem, the work done by a net force on an object is equal to the change in its kinetic energy can be proved mathematically as the following:
1/2 mv 2 - 1/2 mu2 = 1/2 m(2ad)
1/2 mv2 - 1/2 mu2 = mad
1/2 mv2 = Final Kinetic energy, K.Ef.
1/2 mu2 = Initial Kinetic energy, K.E.i
According to Newton's Second law of motion, F= ma
work done by the net force W = Fd
So, K.Ef - K.E.I = W

Newton (N)

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 10 months ago

Force can be defined as an external agent capable of changing the state of rest or motion of a particular body. It has a magnitude and a direction. The direction towards which the force is applied is known as the direction of the force, and the application of force is the point where force is applied. The Force can be measured using a spring balance.
The SI unit of force is Newton(N).

V2_u2

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

The relation connecting the initial velocity (u) and final velocity (v) of an object moving with a uniform acceleration a, and the displacement, S is v2 - u2 = 2aS
This gives  S = (v 2 - u 2)/ 2a
We know F = ma. Thus using above equations, we can write the workdone by the force, F as
  W = ma × (v 2 - u 2)/ 2a
   or
   W = 1 /2 m( v 2 - u 2 )
If object is starting from its stationary position, that is, u = 0, then
 W = 1/ 2 m v 2
It is clear that the work done is equal to the change in the kinetic energy of an object.
If u = 0, the work done will be  W = 1 /2 m v 2 .
Thus, the kinetic energy possessed by an object of mass, m and moving with a uniform velocity, v is Ek =  ½  mv2
