Let the two no.s be x and y
Then Acc. to the question,
x+y=43 - eq. 1
And then
Let the larger be x
Acc. to the question
2x-3y=36 - eq. 2
Multiplying both the sides of eq. 1 by - 3, we get - 3x+3y= 129
3x+3y= 129
2x-3y=36
5x=165
x = 33
x+y = 43
33+y=43
y= 43 - 33
y= 10
Therefore, x = 33
y = 10

Statement : There is one and only one circle passing through three given noncollinear points.

Given : AB and CD are two equal chords of the circle.

OM and ON are perpendiculars from the centre at the chords AB and CD.

To prove : OM = ON.

Construction : Join OA and OC.

Proof :

In ΔAOM and ΔCON,

OA = OC . (radii of the same circle)

MA = CN . (since OM and ON are perpendicular to the chords and it bisects the chord and AM = MB, CN = ND)

∠OMA = ∠ONC = 90°

ΔAOM ≅ ΔCON (R. H. S)

OM = ON (c. p. c. t.)

Equal chords of a circle are equidistant from the centre.
