Jyoti's diagram
Area of the park {tex} = 2 \times \left[ {\frac{{(15 + 30)}}{2} \times \frac{{15}}{2}} \right]{/tex}
{tex} = \frac{{675}}{2}{/tex}
= 337.5 m2
Kavita's diagram
Area of the park = 15 {tex}\times{/tex}15 m2 + {tex}\frac{{15 \times (30 - 15)}}{2}{/tex} m2
= 225 m2 + {tex}\frac{{225}}{2}{/tex} m2
= 225 m2 + 112.5 m2
= 337.5 m2
Another way of finding the area
Area of the park {tex} = \frac{{15 \times (30 - 15)}}{2}{m^2} +2 \times \left[ {\frac{{15 \times 15}}{2}} \right]{m^2}{/tex}
= 112.5 m2 + 225 m2
= 337.5 m2
