Actually cold war was started after the second world war led by USA and USSR,where USA followed the ideology of democracy and capitalism ,and USSR followed the ideology of socialism and communism. Just because of the differences in ideologies cold war began.

NCERT text is best for achieving high marks. However if you want a guide for consulting questions you can go for Arihant or Full Marks or Satish and Bros But do not seek summary or answers from guides. Swear by your NCERT.
