The Soviet Union became a great super power after world war 2 due to the following reasons... 1. It had complex (good) networks that comnected even it's remotest areas with efficiency. 2. It had a domestic consumer industry that produced everything from pins to cars. 3. The Soviet state ensured minimum standard of living for all it's people. 4. The government there subsidized the basic necessities pf life. 5. There was no unemployment. 6. It had vast energy resources. 7. State ownership helped them in developing themselves and becoming self sufficient.

1. Vital Resources, such as Oil and minerals

2. Territory, from where superpower could launch their weapons and troops

3. Location, from where they could spy on each other

Communist ofcourse...india's democracy was a tool in the hands of USSR that's why we have the word 'socialism' in our constitution. That word was added later after the death of Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri. According to him 'socialism meant the death of democracy'. That's why the word 'socialism' was added after his death.

1. The Soviet system bacame very bureaucratic and authoritarian making life difficult for it's people. 2. Lack of democracy there was absence of freedom of speech. 3. One party system was prevailing there at that time. 4. Authorities were unaccountable to people. 5. On papers USSR was a state that treated all it's people equally but in reality Russia dominated everything and people from other regions felt neglected. 6. It lagged behing the west in technology and infrastructure. 7. There was a shortage of all consumer good. 8. Food import rised each year resulting in large outflow of money. Thus making it's economy stagnant.
