In a short time it was proved that no single power can match or balance the military equation of the US. Certain scholars argued that it was strategically and rationally more prudent for state to use the opportunity created by US hegemony. A high economic growth rate requires increase trade, technology transfered and investment which can be achieved by working with the 'hegemon' rather than going against it. These strategy is known as Bandwagon strategy. According to this, it is better extract benefits by operating within the hegemonic system rather than opposing it. The other strategy open to states is to 'hide'. This means to keep a safe safe distance from hegemony. Many big actors like China, Russia and the EU are trying to exemplified such behavior. This may be an attractive and the affective policy for small policies to hide themselves from world rivalry Some scholars believe that challenge to US hegemony would not come from other powerless states rather this challenge may come from Non-state actors. It would emerge from a combination of social Movement, NGOs,media, intellectual. The whole world is now a global village with US being the head man.
