CIS is an inter governmental organization formed after the disintegration of USSR in Dec 1991. Its full form is commonwealth of independent states . It was formed to give disintegrated nations a secure state of feeling for development and military support . It had 11 active members at the time of formation and Georgia joined CIS in 1993. Russia plays the main role in CIS as it is most developed and powerful among all of CIS members
