Motional Electromotive Force
An emf induced by the motion of the conductor across the magnetic field is a motional electromotive force. The equation is given by E = -vLB. This equation is true as long as the velocity, field, and length are mutually perpendicular. The minus sign associated with the Lenz’s law.

- Resistivity is also known as specific resistance.
- It is the resistance of the specific material; also it is specific to a material.
- R=ρ, If A and L =1 in Equation R= ρ (L/A).
- Resistivity is defined as resistance of unit length and unit area of a conductor.

The force exert on any hand of the loop will be the same in magnitude and opposite in direction and eventually they cancel out each other. So the loop will not experience any net force. This is true for any orientation of the loop.

Velocity selector is an arrangement of cross electric and magnetic fields is a region which helps us to select from a beam, charged particles of the given velocity.
When a beam of charged particles of different charge and masses pass, through a region of crossed electric and magnetic field B each particle experience a force due to electric and magnetic field.
Then,
such particles go undeviated and filter out of the region.

Magnetic forces on moving charges. One basic feature of magnetism is that, in the vicinity of a magnetic field, a moving charge will experience a force. ... Thus magnetic forces cause charged particles to change their direction of motion, but they do not change the speed of the particle.

Question: The instantaneous value of current in an A.C. circuit is I = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]A. The current will be maximum for the first time at,
Solution:
t = (1/600) sec
Explanation:
I = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]
Given current will be maximum. Here Imax is given to be 2A
∴ I = Imax = 2A
∴ 2 = 2 sin[100πt + (π/3)]
∴ 1 = sin[100πt + (π/3)]
∴ 100 πt (π/3) = (π/2)
100 πt = (π/6)
∴ t = (1/600) sec
