The earth has its own magnitic field whose magnitude is about 0.1 gauss the earth magnitism is due to the motion of the ions of metal in the core of earth these metal are in molten state and the ions of the metals revolves due to the motion of earth and form tiny current crossing loops . and the earth magnitism is due to the magnet field produce by these current carrying loops. This effect is also called Dynamo effect. ALL THE BEST.
