When +ve half cycle of is ac reaches a diode ...it becomes forward biased ....thus it conducts and it flows as it is....but when -ve jahlf cycle reaches it is reverse biased so no current flows ...this causes only positive part of ac graph as output...

it takes ac current and makes it unidirectional but it doesn't produce a constant dc current but it only produce time variying Dc voltage it uses property of pn junction that is pn junction conducts electricity actively in forward bias only .

We know wavelength of red light is more than the violet light. Refractive index of the prism is inversely proportional to the wavelength of the incident light. Hence relative refractive index between prism and red light is less than the relative refractive index between the prism and violet light. Angle of minimum deviation is directly proportional to the relative refractive index by the relation :- δ = μ-1A where A is the angle of prism. Therefore the angle of minimum deviation for red light is less than the violet.
