When two waves of same frequency and constant initial phase difference travel in the same direction along a straight line simultaneously, they superpose in such a way that the intensity of resultant wave is max at certain points and min at certain point. ..the phenomenon of redistribution of intensity due to superposition of two waves of same freq and constant initual phase difference is called interference

Two wave sources are said to be coherent source if they both have exactly same frequency and zero or constant phase different.... Example Laser light..... Most of the light sources in our surroundings are incoherent.. Example sun lamp candle... Etc
