Now since total internal reflection is occuring here, angle r = 90° Using this in snells law we get, n1 sin i = n2 ic = critical angle (ic) here, sin ic=(n2/n1) since n(refractive index) = speed of ray in vaccum / speed in medium, Therefore, sin ic= (c/v1)/(c/v2) = v2/v1 Therefore critical angle = v2/v1
