Stopping frequency is also called cutoff frequency below which photo electric effect can't be seen, for emmision of electron the required minimum energy (work function) can be produce by the light having frequency higher or equal to threshold frequency (higher frequency light have higher energy) , frequency below threshold frequency called stopping frequency.
