In calculus, a parametric derivative is a derivative of a dependent variable with respect to another dependent variable that is taken when both variables depend on an independent third variable, usually thought of as "time" (that is, when the dependent variables are x and y and are given by parametric equations in t ). Parametric functions are functions of a number of coordinates (2 for the 2-dimensional plane, 3 for 3-D space, and so on), where each of coordinate (x, y, z ...) is expressed as another function of some parameter, like time: x = f(t), y = g(t), z = h(t), and so on.

The transpose of a matrix is a new matrix whose rows are the columns of the original. The transpose of a matrix is simply a flipped version of the original matrix. We can transpose a matrix by switching its rows with its columns. We denote the transpose of matrix A by AT. For example, if A=[123456] then the transpose of A is AT=[142536]. In linear algebra, the transpose of a matrix is an operator which flips a matrix over its diagonal, that is it switches the row and column indices of the matrix by producing another matrix denoted as AT (also written A′, AtrtA or At).
