Let Number of orange originally =  x

% of orange sells = 40 %

% of orange remainging = 60 %

Number of orange remaining = {tex} {x\times 60\over 100 }= {3x\over 5}{/tex}

According to question,

{tex}{3x\over 5} = 420 \\ => x = {420\times 5\over 3} \\ => x= 140\times 5 = 700{/tex}
