Sin^2 x/2 + cos^2 x/2 =1 Sin2x = 2 sin x cos x √ 1 - sinx dx = √ sin^2 x/2 + cos^2 x/2 + 2 sin x/2 cos x/2 = √ (sin x - cos x) ^2 = integration of sinx/2 - cos x/2 = -( 2 sin x/2 + cos x/2) +c

See, First to subtract we need a common denominator. So 24 is the least common factor for 8 and 12. To make the denominator 8 as 24 we multiply it by 3 to compensate it we must multiply the numerator also by 3. For equalising 12 we multiply by 2 and again to compensate we multiply the numerator by 2. After doing this we get 3-2/24 which is equal to 1/24. Hope you understood !!
