Take 1+cosx as 2cos^2x/2 and sinx as 2sinx/2cosx/2 now on solving you get tan^-(cotx/2) and then replace cot by tan(π/2+x/2) so now tan^-1 get cancelled with tan and you get π/2+x/2 now simply differentiate it and you got your answer as -1/2

Can you let me know how you split the integral?? On what basis did you do it?

Suhani Rana? 6 years, 7 months ago

|xcosπx|=xcosπx for 0≤x≤1/2 And -xcosπx for 1/2≤x≤3/2 Now just integrate i.e integrate 0 to 1/2(xcosπx)dx - 1/2 to 3/2 (xcosπx)
