Heather's store manager has asked her to arrange some clothing items into pleasing color combinations. As she goes about her task, Heather thinks back to her early school days and remembers how much she enjoyed choosing crayons from the 64-count box. Once again, colors are a part of her work. Heather has an eye for color, but doesn't know exactly why certain colors look good together, so she decides to explore color theory.

Color theory is a set of principles used to create harmonious color combinations pleasing to the eye and senses. It provides us with a common ground for understanding how colors can be used, arranged, coordinated, blended, and related to one another. Color theory is about why some colors work together aesthetically, while others do not. Thus, it's about color mixing and the visual effects of color.

Perceptions each employee holds about his workplace. Depending on the personality of the worker, the communication level of coworkers and managers and the overall workplace environment, the way employees perceive their jobs can be quite different from what actually exists. Further, the way managers perceive employee working conditions can differ greatly from what workers actually deal with. It is important that managers and owners invest time and other resources in making perceptions and reality line up at work.

A central focus on the child can involve looking at the child's interests and the experiences they've already received, and listening to their ideas. The children will then become part of the planning. The childcare worker's role is to give the children choices. This is a basis to ensure that the child develops independently to be able to form their own opinion.

  • Children and young people learn by receiving direct experiences that help them to develop confidently.
  • Early years provision has been influenced by this approach as the Government has adopted the seven core aims of working.
