The following instances from the narrative shows that kushwant's grandmother was a kind hearted woman.. let's have a glance at these:- 1.in the story it is shown that grandma used to give stale chapattis to the dogs while on thier way to school( in village) 2.she used to feed sparrows. They perched on her shoulders, and even on head.. she never shooed the sparrows away. All the instance hints that grandma was an extremely kind ? hearted women??? .she had developed a strong bond with the sparrows by feeding them this hints at she even tried to understand dumb animals and sparrows. I don't think so anymore evidences are needed...i hope u will be satisfied with the answer.? Try that

According to the author's grandma, children should compulsorily be taught about God n the holy scriptures. Secondly, she believed that music was meant for harlots n beggars n not for the gentlefolk. She did not believe in subjects like science etc. Thus, she did not like the kind of education the author was getting in the English school.

1.she here refers to the potess'mother.2.Betty and Dolly were the cousins of potess'mother.3.some twenty thirty years later from when the picture was clicked her mother would look at the snapshot and laughed she remembered nostalgically about the sea holiday and how odly they used to be dressed for the beach. And last answer is ..the sea holiday was remembered by her mother with a sense of fondness as well as with a sense of loss as that time would never return similarly her laughter could never be seen by poet as she was no more. The sea holiday was the poet's mother's past and her laughter is the poetess past .both made a lot of effort to overcome or easen this sense of loss but there will always be a tinge of difficulty in letting them go completely . That's too long but a proper answer..?

Very easy question see here's the detailed answer...... 1. Her mother was standing at the beach and she went there to enjoy her sea holiday along with her two girl cousinsand the uncle.2.as mentioned in the poem she had pretty childish face and the picture was taken much before the poet was born.3. (transient means something that is short lived or temporary)the feets are called transient bcoz human live lacks impermanence we don't know when we'll be leaving for heavenly abode human lives are short lived and temporary as compared to nature.4.transient has the same meaning as momentry both means short lived.5.the sea has changed very less or is still the same today but the poet's mother gradually grew older and had passed away leaving behind just memories that are captured in pics. That's the answer.........?

Relationship of a parent and the children is a very soft one. But in today's life which is full of hustle and bustle parents hardly get time for thier children .they are always busy in thier work and in spare timein cell phones.this is really a matter of concern.both parent and children needs to understand each other's perception.respecting each other's diffrences is the only way to diminish the distance between parents and children.unfortunately by the time the realisation dawns upon the parents, the vaccum ha already been created.the bond of understanding needs to be nurtured constantly. Parents need to understand the views of children without being too critical.that's all rest add ur creativity. #lets try to develope a new understanding.......... With our parents.....?‍?‍?‍??‍?

No.. There's no such indication in the story that the boys returned the horse after getting pangs of conscience. As their family and tribe had been famous for their honesty n truthfulness for centuries, they just returned the horse for the sake of family pride n dignity.

Demerits of democracy:

  • Democracy is all about political competition and power play. There is no scope for morality.
  • Consultation in a democracy from many people leads to delays.
  • Not knowing the best interest of the people by the elected leaders leads to bad decisions.
  • Democracy leads to corruption for it is based on electoral competition.

As you all know that thoughts change as time time passes in our life. Khushwant singh as a child never belived that his grandmother was a preety lady because he had always seen her as a old age lady who always belived or had faith on god . She belived in teachings if god and never belived in westeren culture and as time passed she started spending lot of time being alone and engage herself in praying ? i her happies moment of her life was to feed birds ?

Srajal Bajpai 5 years, 9 months ago

khushwant singh describes his old grandmother as short , fat and a little stooped. He also describes her as being not pretty in the traditional sense but her serenity made her beautiful as she always used to chant silent prayers from beads of rosary. she was always in spotless white . They were very close to each other but the distance grew once he moved to city to further his academics

The engine refers to the mother bird. The mother bird stokes the engine i.e. feeds her young ones and provide the nutrition that is necessary to run the machine.(the goldfinch family) Also one more sense can be taken out as the engine can also be the birds family which makes the machine the laburnum tree to be full of life and merth, cheer and happiness. But the first one is more appropriate now u choose.
