Dr. Sadao felt that the General was in the palm of his hand i.e. his control because he was indispensable for the General's well-being and survival. The General did not trust any other doctor. He knew, that if he is arrested and tried for saving and sheltering an enemy sailor, the General will in his own interest, see to it that no harm comes to Dr.Sadao.

Ans. M. Hamel observes that the great trouble with Alsace was that it put off learning until tomorrow. It means that the people of that town did not perform their work when it was required to be done and kept it off until later. The people of Alsace would not reprimand little Franz for not speaking or writing in one's own language yet calling himself a Frenchman. It was due to the fact that they had a great deal to reproach themselves with. The parents were not anxious enough for their children to learn and instead preferred to put them to work on a farm or at mills so that they could have more money.

Griffin is a brilliant scientist who does many experiments. He uses his invention to turn himself invisible. During the course of his experiments, he displays no compassion for the cat who suffers miserably as Griffin does experiments on it. He kills his father and instead of feling guilty, he justifes his action by calling his father a sentimental fool..He flouts all social restrictions and norms by stealing, cheating and even killing people. His actions exhibit how morally degraded and self-centred he has become. "The Invisible man" truly higlights the theme of corruption of morals in the absence of social restriction.

So now its the final time and board exams are just a couple of days away.
After studying for almost a year and practicing a lot of sample papers, the only thing left is to understand how to solve the paper.
See, in English paper start with Section - C i. e. Literature part as it carries the maximum marks. Complete it in 1 hour.
Then give your 40 mins to Section-A Reading and attempt all the questions point to point.
After that give your left over time to Section-B and present your thoughts in a smarter way referring to the word-limit.
Make sure to have 10 mins left for your revision.
Do all the questions of a particular section at one place. Follow these points and you will easily score 90+ in exams.
All the very best :)

Silas is a weaver living in a manufacturing city in the north of England. He and his friends are Dissenters, Christians who don't belong to the state-sponsored Anglican Church that was (and is) dominant in England. Things are good. He's got a best friend named William Dane, a best girl named Sarah, and the only minor issue is that he occasionally spaces out—like, really spaces out, to the point that he doesn't know what's going on around him.
And then he's accused of theft. The group kicks him out, and Silas makes his way south to the Midlands, where he sets up his loom and settles down in the village of Raveloe. Business is good, but the villagers think he's a weird loner. For fifteen whole years, he weaves and holds nightly sessions with his growing hoard of money.
Meanwhile, things aren't going well for Raveloe's wealthy family up at the Red House. The head of the family, old Mr. Cass, is a jerk, and he's got a jerky younger son, Dunstan. His older son, Godfrey is secretly married to the opium-addled Molly. This is depressing to Godfrey, because these are pre-regular divorce days, and he's got his eye on another girl, Nancy Lammeter.
When the main action of the story opens, Dunstan convinces Godfrey to sell his horse to pay a debt, and even offers to sell it for him. Big mistake, Godfrey. Before getting the money, Dunstan takes the horse off hunting, but he makes a stupid move and the horse ends up dead. As Dustan is walking home, he spies Silas's cottage and has the bright idea to steal the money everyone suspects Silas has.
Silas, who can't catch a break and knows it, promptly sinks into depression. He's depressed all through Christmas, and then New Year's arrives. Up at the Red House, Mr. Cass is giving his big annual party. Godfrey recklessly flirts with Nancy. Dunstan is nowhere to be found, and hasn't been for a while.
Down near the Stone-Pits by Silas's cottage, Molly trudges along the snow-covered road carrying a child. She takes some opium (dumb), sits down under a bush (dumber), and falls asleep (really, really dumb, but also sad). The child wakes up and toddles off, accidentally—or miraculously?—deciding to cuddle up in front of Silas's hearth.
Silas refuses to let anyone take the child: she's his replacement for the gold. Cue the life-changing montage. Silas takes advice from his neighbors, has her baptized, and stops hoarding for the sake of hoarding. The next sixteen years pass in a haze of neighborly good-feeling and childish hijinks.
When Part Two opens, we meet a grown-up Eppie. She's eighteen, adorable, and everyone loves her, most especially Dolly Winthrop's son Aaron. But all is not well up at the Red House: Godfrey and Nancy are childless. One day, Godfrey comes to give Nancy some news: first, they've found Dunstan. He was lying drowned at the bottom of the quarry, which has been drained as a nearby landowner improves his land. Second, Dunstan had stolen Silas's money, and the money has now been returned to Silas. Third, Eppie is Godfrey's child.
Nancy and Godfrey offer to adopt Eppie, but she refuses. She loves Silas, she loves the villagers, and she's going to marry Aaron. The novel ends with a wedding. As Aaron, Silas, and Eppie—who would be unbearably annoying, if she weren't fictional—enter their little cottage, Eppie sighs with happiness.

- Bio Data is the short form for Biographical Data and is an archaic terminology for Resume or C.V. In a bio data, the focus is on personal particulars like date of birth, gender, religion, race, nationality, residence, marital status, and the like. A chronological listing of education and experience comes after that.
- A Resume is ideally a summary of one's education, skills and employment when applying for a new job. A resume does not list out all details of a profile, but only some specific skills customized to the target job profile.

Ans. The central theme of "Aunt Jennifer's Tigers" by Adrienne Rich is how the power of the patriarchy controls women's bodies but not their minds. The poem makes this point by presenting the wild, exotic, powerful tigers embroidered by Aunt Jennifer and contrasting them with Aunt Jennifer herself.
Aunt Jennifer is, probably, terrified of the oppression of her chauvinist husband. She lives her life under constant pressure of duties and responsibilities of a married lady. The image of the wedding ring, even after her death, suggests that there is no escape whatsoever from the conventions of her marriage and that she had to succumb to them.

The story of Griffin seems to be a parable depicting the power of money. Griffin’s invisibility resulted from a scientific discovery . The chief use Griffin makes of his invisibility is to rob people of their money. This is supported by the statement, “The story of the flying money was true…money had been quietly and dexterously making off that day in handfuls …floating quietly along by walls and shady places…”Moreover, the only thing that gets Griffin accepted in Iping is money. He gets a room at the inn because of his ability to ‘strike a bargain’. Even Mrs Hall does not bother to learn Griffin’s name as long as he pays his bills on time. Indeed money helps a lot in manipulation as he calms down an agitated Mrs Hall by saying “Put it down in the bill”. As Mrs Hall says , he may be a bit overbearing , but bills settled everything… Thus griffin needs money to survive and his crimes started with his stealing of money from his father. He was able to live among the people by virtue of the power of money.

Well, the most dreaded paper of board has one craziest thing, the methods of scoring high are like solving physics questions with limits and derivations.
you can go through on following steps
- Be sure that you carry more than 2 pens with yourself. As the paper is lengthy, keep changing the pens in between, which will make you write better and faster.
- Recommended book , evergreen's 100% success in english ( core or communication or whatever). This book completely defines what types of questions will be asked (very accurate too), and also shows the points, which must be covered in the answers. This helped me a lot. My novel questions, were exactly the same, as described by this book. Recommended for other subjects too.
- Be sure to get insight of your NCERT textbook.
- Now, while doing paper, if you encounter any question (usually in reading portion) having high level, then you must attempt it. It happened to me. At my time, same thing occurred in reading portion, the CBSE agreed that the question was indeed of high level, and made a decision to give students grace, only those who have answered it, not left blank.
- Be sure to get GOOD NIGHT sleep, that you wake up fresh and energetic.
BE SURE TO LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS HOW MY POINTS HELPED YOU!

Ans. The literal meaning of the above line is that the king has died, and it is hoped that the new king will live a long time.
However, the poet through this expression tries to bring out the irony of this slogan shouted by the ministers and the crowd, where they are praising the king for his wisdom that has resulted in his hanging.
It is highly ironical that they are hoping that he lives long through those principles of his, which have inadvertently caused his death.

In the last lesson the teacher M. Hamel told the students about the importance of a language in the lives of the people. He implicitly started that a language always keep the people united. He encouraged people to fight unitedly to win their freedom from slavery. In the words of Hamel: ‘‘when a people are enslaved, as long as they hold fast to their language, it is as if they had the key to their prison.’’ In stating so M. Hamel is very much right.
