Mr Thomas Marvel was a short, fat man. He gave an impression of a tramp – the shabby hat, the charity boots, his clothes and his homeless lifestyle. Being a lazy guy, he did everything in a leisurely manner. Griffin made him his sidekick even though he himself considered him stupid and good for nothing. He was a coward little man and was unable to standup to Griffin. He became his partner in crime, but cheated him. He was also an opportunist. The first chance that he got, he tried to sneak away from Griffin, but failed. The second time he manage to run away with all his money and his three books. Hew was very clear in the sense that he himself got arrested as he knew Griffin was after him. Moreover, he kept the three books for himself in hope of solving their mystery – an act of foolishness.

The recent years have seen an unprecedented increase in the violence among the youth, often lethal violence all around the nation. Anecdotal evidence of increase in violence by young people against women, children and old people, of abduction, molestation, of road rage and other violent actions to get whatever they want is alarming. This epidemic has caused serious concern to parents, families and the public in general. This has shaken the very roots of the idea of building a peaceful, secure society where the youth become torch-bearers for the progress of the nation. Obviously, the personal losses, the trauma, the emotional pain due to the violent acts are immense. There is a growing fear that our institutions are unable to maintain social order. Brutal violence and the fear of violence have changed the way people live and think and have raised many questions for someone to answer. One of the strongest influences on the young minds today is undoubtedly media which mainly constitutes television and cinema. The vulnerable youth today are constantly exposed to the media which has a lot to show by means of vulgarity and violence. Scenes of gory violence in films and some of the TV programmes provoke the youth to develop negative and dark thoughts which may, one day, turn into real life deadly scenes. Since media plays a serious role in influencing the youth, it can, in fact, be utilised in increasing awareness among the young.

Griffin had the thought of robbing Vicar’s house to get some money so that he could survive and pay his bills. To avoid detection and being caught, Griffin got rid of his bandages and clothes and went to the Vicar’s house. He was aware that the Vicar kept his money in his desk in the study. Griffin entered through the back door of the Vicar’s house and straight away went to the Vicar’s bedroom to check if the Vicar and his wife were asleep. To ensure his safety, he checked the other room too. Unfortunately, the Vicar’s wife heard the bedroom door open and close and then the padding sound of footsteps from the adjoining dressing room. Without having any idea about that, Griffin went downstairs into the study. He found and collected the money and slipped out throughthe back door even before the Vicar could understand what had happened.

Bhumi Jain 7 years, 11 months ago

The Maharaja's bullet missed the tiger though he had taken careful aim at the beast. The shock of the sound of the bullent. One hunter took aim from a distance of one foot and shot the tiger dead.

It is ridiculous that the tiger king who had killed 99 tigers should miss his aim. It is funny that the hunter takes aim from a hand-shaking distance. The whole situation is  ironic

It dies because one of the minister shoots the tiger himself only.they didn't wanted that this should news should reach to king
