    Mr lamb attitude towards life is positive.his leg ha blown off but he still as a person try to convey Derry as a positive results towards life at the end.he says don't listen what other days like me .when I am outside child says to me Lambeylamb but they came and take jellies.

    In this story we have seen a positive attitude of mr lamb towards life. He has a artificial leg of tin but he never mind it because he know everyone have some deficiency in their life but this doesn't mean that they left to live happily or do not enjoy their joyful moments. Everyone speaks him lamey lamb but he do not focuses on them. He also motivates derry to live his life without listening the other people wording because it is your life and you decide how to live. This shows the positive attitude of mr lamb in the story 'on the face of it'.

    The title on the face of it signifies that Derry face which is burnt on one side due to acid. He even hates his face not to come in contact with any one person.when they meet lamb he say that the people fear when they see his face.and also says this is the ugliest thing which I ever saw.and this is the only face which mother could love.the whole story talks about his face that's why the title is 'on the face of it's.

    First impressions need not necessarily be the best impression . The warnings of Derry's mother fall on deaf ears as his attitude towards Mr Lamb has changed and is not to be guided by impressions people form on the face of it. Appearances can sometimes be deceptive as people tend to change their opinion after a second look. The title is apt as Mr Lamb has given Derry courage to face the world even with half a face and to not to take things at its face value.

    Mr. Lamb have an optimistic attitude towards Life. Though he was lame and have one leg made up of tin . He lives alone in a house. People have spread many stories about him and kids call him "lamey - lamb " . But all these things do not affect him . He remains cheerful. He has no curtains on his windows because he like to see natural sunlight and darkness. The gate of his garden remains open because he loves to talk to people. To the common people, bees " buzz" , but when Mr. Lamb listens to them, he feels they are humming some tune. To him flowers, trees, weeds etc all are living things. All these things show his " optimism" towards Life .
