M. Hamel was a true French man. Teaching at Alsace for forty years, he had become a part of its people. He was an honest teacher. He did not blame his students alone for poor learning. He also held himself responsible for the same. He was very patriotic as he appealed to his countrymen to hold fast to their mother tongue to be free from the Prussians. According to him the French language was the most beautiful, the clearest and the most logical language in the world. He appealed to his countrymen to guard it and never forget it. He was emotionally attached to the school and all his students. However, he was very brave and strong. He was really sorry for not making sincere efforts to teach French to his countrymen. At the end, he became so emotional that he could not speak.

Dr. Sadao was a famous Japanese surgeon.
He went to America to study surgery and medicine. By the time his father died, he had established himself as a surgeon and scientist.
Dr. Sadao Hoki’s house was built on the Japanese coast. It was a low, square stone house above a narrow beach.
.
There was another reason of keeping Sadao in Japan. The old general might need an operation. Dr. Sadao’s services were needed at any time. Hence, he was not sent abroad with troops

The annual meeting of Indian National Congress was being held. Raj Kumar Shukla from Champaran apprised Gandhiji of appalling conditions of share-croppers there. Gandhiji reached there. He came to know that the large estates were owned by the Englishmen and the Indians worked as their tenant farmers. They were required to pay 15% of their land yields. Gandhiji and the lawyers investigated into the grievances of the farmers. The Britishers decided that 25 per cent of the money would be refunded. The farmers became bold when they got their rights. Within a few years, the landlords relinquished their claims over the estates and the farmers became the owners.
Gandhiji viewed the social, economic and cultural backwardness of the area. He appointed volunteers to teach the villagers. Kasturba taught the Ashram rules and personal cleanliness and community sanitation. A doctor volunteered his services for six months to improve the health conditions of the people. They realized the value of self reliance. The lawyers helped the peasants in their cases. Women offered him whole hearted support. The countrymen embarked on the task of national freedom movement. It became a turning point in Gandhiji's life (Career).

Franz was a boy who lived in the district of Alsace. He studied in one of the schools in Alsace. He was not fond of attending school and studying. He liked the out world more than the environment of the school. Learning French was something he never gave much importance to. He was scared of his French teacher M. Hamel. The time when the people of Alsace came to know that as per the new law, German would be taught in the school in the place of French, he experienced a different feeling for French altogether. Apart from being surprised, he felt sorry for himself for not paying attention while studying French. He was very disappointed and sorry to attend the last lesson of French in his school.

The way Charley came across Sam’s letter was surrounded in mystery. Among his oldest first-day covers, he found an envelope. The envelope containing the letter bore the address of his grandfather. It was written on July 18, 1894. The postmark showed the Picture of President Garfield. Generally, the first-day covers have blank papers in them, but this one contained a letter. The letter was addressed to Charley. In the letter, Sam had informed Charley that he was living on the third level. He had also told Charley and his wife to keep looking for the third level. Clearly, the letter was a product of Charley’s imagination.
