    Franz noticed many unusual things at the school that day:

    It was all so still, calm and quiet like Sunday morning while on other days there used to be a great hustle and bustle. The same could be heard out in the street. The opening and closing of the desks, lessons repeated in unison very loud and the teacher’s great ruler rapping on the table made a great noise. But on that the whole school looked so strange and solemn. It was quite unusual and surprising.

    With the help of his stories , jack always aimed at imparting a moral message to his daughter, Jo and narrated stories which had a slight variation from the basic tale. Now that he is also running short of ideas and the stories are becoming quite predictable, for he, he thinks story telling has become futile.

He also entertained him and played cards with him as if he was his guest.     Sadao was a famous surgeon and scientist. He had mastered the art of healing wounds. The old General of Japan had full faith in his abilities as a surgeon. He did not believe any other doctor. He was not keeping good health and could require a surgery any time, so Sadao was not sent with the troops abroad.

    The order from Berlin is called a thunderclap by Franz, because it was a complete shock for him. He had never thought that he would be deprived of the right of learning his native language. He realised he had so much more yet to learn and was going to lose the opportunity. When Franz reached the school, he saw a strange stillness in the class. Then the teacher, M. Hamel, announced that it was their last lesson in French and the new German teacher will take the charge on the following day. These words of M. Hamel came as thunderclap to Franz since the announcement was unexpected and sudden for him.
