The followers of Gandhiji wanted the Englishman Mr. Andrews to stay back in Champaran and help them with their cause. But Gandhiji refused, saying that Indians must fight for their cause themselves. They must not rely upon other Englishmen and use them as props. Thus, he taught his followers a lesson in self-reliance.

Dr. Sadao plays safe by informing the General about the prisoner's presence at his place. As a doctor it was his duty to save a dying man and he had already served his duty as a doctor but as a true citizen it was also his responsibility to not provide shelter to an American prisoner of war. Thus, he informed the general and asked him to take charge of the situation. But, tor the General forgot to send the assassins and thus, Sadao as a true human being helped the prisoner leave his place safely. Had he not informed the general and later the mattered would have come to shore, everybody would have blamed the doctor for helping an enemy and should have thought of the entire act as a crime against the country. However, by informing the General, Sadao had served his duty as a true citizen and now it was the General's fault to have forgotten about the prisoner.

Character of M. Hamel
M. Hamel was a true French man. Teaching at Alsace for forty years, he had become a part of its people. He was an honest teacher. He did not blame his students alone for poor learning. He also held himself responsible for the same. He was very patriotic as he appealed to his countrymen to hold fast to their mother tongue to be free from the Prussians. According to him the French language was the most beautiful, the clearest and the most logical language in the world. He appealed to his countrymen to guard it and never forget it. He was emotionally attached to the school and all his students. However, he was very brave and strong. He was really sorry for not making sincere efforts to teach French to his countrymen. At the end, he became so emotional that he could not speak.

By: Sweety
L.M. Jain School
14th February, 20xx. A major slum area in Vilas Nagar was gutted by a massive fire on 10th February, 20xx. The fire whose exact cause is still not very clear caused extensive damage to life and property. Ten persons lost their lives, many were injured and about two hundred people were rendered homeless. Our school joined and relief to the victims. The students of our school got together and collected food packets, old clothes, medicines, utensils, etc. to be distributed to these homeless and helpless people. Ten students and three teachers personally visited this slum area to ensure proper and fair distribution of the items that had been collected and thus provided some relief to these unfortunate people in their time of crisis and misery.
