Bio molecule...... bio means living .........molecules.means substances .examples of biomolecules are.... polysaccharides .....saccharides stands for sugars .............polysaccharides means long molecules of sugar ......ok like sucrose which is formed from glucose and fructose........ galactose from glucose and lactose..... ok sometimes questions are asked the like.......what would be the result of the hydrolysis of sucrose ........answer is glucose and Fructose.......... reducing sugars are those carbohydrates which contain free aldehyde aur Ketone group ..........and hence reduce fehling solution and tollens reagent.......... non reducing sugar are just opposite ......example sucrose....... remember whenever we treat glucose with hydrogen iodide we get a linear hexane......... there are two types of amino acids ..........essential...... non essential essential .....1 one are not produced by the body .......non essential one are produced by the body .......types of proteins fibrous proteins which are insoluble in water ........Globular proteins are soluble in water.......... constituents of nucleic acids are pentose sugar ......phosphoric acid...... nitrogenous base............ nitrogenous base of two types....... pyrimidines cytosine thymine uracil .......purine adenine and guanine ........ two types ........fat soluble vitamins vitamin A D E K are fat soluble........ and a stored in liver and adipose tissues...... water soluble Vitamin B and C....... remember the question........ why Vitamin C can not be stored inside our body the reason is......... because it is a water soluble vitamin and hence it is excreted out from the body regularly and hence we need a regular supply of Vitamin C....... come to the the chemical names of some vitamins Vitamin B1 thiamine ........vitamin B2 riboflavin.......... Vitamin B6 pyridoxine......Vitamin C ascorbic acid........ so questions which came in last year and important one are what is glycogen............ as the name suggest glyco means related to glucose and is a polymer of glucose and glycogen is stored in animal bodies in the same way cellulose is stored in plant bodies...... difference between nucleoside and nucleotide.......hope it helps you if it helped please write??

Manjay Jha 5 years, 9 months ago

Pura biomolecules how can i explain it to you. I can just say that learn the difference btw Amylose and Amylopectin.....products of sucrose, lactose and maltose when there are hydrolysed... What is nucleoside and nucleotide...diffrence btw rna and dna...glycogen and starch...invert sugar...denaturation of protein...essential non essential amino acids... alpha helix and beta helix...peptide linkage...types of rna found in the cell!!! I think that's enough.

Aryan Ruhal 5 years, 9 months ago

Shruti you are right but can u explain

Manjay Jha 5 years, 9 months ago

Haha areey that's easy. But i think you guy's are maths students, isn't? Cuz' bio ke hote to itni prblm nahi hain because ye same chapter 11th me bhi tha. But clam down and chillax ho jayega!

The main reason for stability of colloidal sol is that all colloidal particles in the sol carry the same charge hence they repel each other and cannot coagulate.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 9 months ago

There are two main reasons for the stability of colloidal sols:
Solvation: Colloidal particles are covered by a sheath of liquid in which they are extensively solvated, thereby providing stability.

Electrostatic stabilisation: Presence of equal and similar charges on the colloidal particles prevents coagulation of the colloidal sol.

No naming reactions are enough but not sufficient for Organic Chemistry........ you must know about the conversions happening in organic chemistry....... you must know about the chemical tests to distinguish between various compounds...... you must know about the .....acidic ......basic..... alcoholic strength ......knowing about decreasing order of pkb values...... boiling point .....solubility in water ......are really very important .......IUPAC names .......some conceptual questions........ like" aldehydes are more reactive than ketones towards nucleophile"...... the answer is simple due to steric and electronic reasons..........,... effect of substituents on the acidic strength ........SN1 SN2 ..........drawing The structures of the given compound ..................suggesting reagent for the conversion .............for example .............question is suggest. reagent for conversion of Ethanol to ethanoic acid ............answer is very simple any oxidizing agent like kmno4 or. K2 cr2 O7.......?

Important topics of aldehyde ketones and carboxylic acid....... are first of all IUPAC names seriously these are very important because in boards difficult questions come from IUPAC names ..............you must know about hydroboration oxidation. in which addition of water takes place according to anti markovnikov rule this is very simple and is asked many times in board just add water according to anti markovnikov rule simple............. oxymercuration demercuration ..........similar to that of hydroboration and oxidation just add water according to markovnikov rule ............clemmensen reduction .........certain conversions are important........ for example....... convert .........chlorobenzene to phenol....... in which you just need to add NaOH. to the chlorobenzene......... conversion of benzene to phenol ................Williamson synthesis is very very important....... just revise it very very important.......... kolbe reaction ................reimer tiemann reaction .................distinguishing tests like .....Lucas test ....which is based on turbidity appearance.......... Iodoform test.......... ferric chloride test ...........phenol gives a violet coloured water soluble Complex with ferric chloride.............?
