As bond length increases, bond strength decreases. This is because the nuclei of the two atoms in the covalent bond are further apart, so there is a lower electrostatic force of attraction between the two nuclei and the shared pair of electrons between them. Bond length increases as the atomic radius of the atoms in the bond increases, and this increased bond length means that these molecules will react faster with other substances in chemical reactions as the bond enthalpy is lower so the bond is more easily broken (due to weaker intramolecular forces), therefore the substance is more reactive

Simply there intermolecular forces are very strong thus have high m.p. nd b.p. so lattices are fixed

Divyansh Pandey 7 years, 8 months ago

Because they have fixed and definite constituents particles on their fix positions. These particles only rotate on thir mean position but they can not change their position hence they have definite volume and shape.

Plastic is a amorphous solid because it's arrangement of atoms is irregular and it's melting point is quite low and it have a tendency to flow after giving a temp. So it shows the properties of amorphous solid........

This is because planes of building are made up of mirror and mirror is supercooled or pseudosolid which have tendency to flow hence panes is thick from bottom and turns milky.
