The reason is bcz carbon is from 14 group n 2 period......hence small in size.....so the chain dt is formed is more strong bcz of the attraction to da nucleus of dose valance ele trons ....in comparision to carbon silicon shows less catenation ...i think dt now u cn assume/ understand why
